Schedule of Permit Fees
NOTE: Stating July 1, 2024 the Building Department will be operating on a new fee schedule.
Permit fees are required on all buildings, structures, alterations and repairs to buildings, fire protection systems, signs, pools, and fences as set forth in the International Building Codes. Permit fees are due at the time of application.
New Constructions
Permit fees for all new construction will be calculated based on square feet under roof using the most current ICC Building Validation Data.
For new construction, a Plan Fee will be charged based on 50% of the Permit Fee for Residential and 75% of the Permit Fee for Commercial.
Plumbing-Mechanical-Electrical-Demolition
Fees for Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical Permits will be based on the value of the project including parts and labor. Demolition Permits are $50.00 for residential demolition. Commercial demolition permit fee will be based on the contract cost of the project.

Moving Permit for Houses and Buildings
The Moving Permit for moving houses and buildings is $200.00. A Building Permit is also required for the foundation, repairs, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Manufactured Homes
Permit fees for the moving/placement of manufactured (mobile) homes are as follows:
- Moving Permit to move home out of Hampton County: NO charge for the permit but all taxes must be paid before permit will be issued.
- Moving Permit to move home into or within Hampton County: $205.00
- Mobile Home de-title: $100.00
- Electrical Permits: $125.00
When a routine inspection reveals deficiencies, which require correction and re-inspection there may be a re-inspection fee of $100.00 for each additional inspection. THIS FEE IS TO BE PAID PRIOR TO RE-INSPECTION.
Planning and zoning fees
- Zoning Verification Letter: $30.00
- Plat Review: $25.00
- Minor Subdivision: $50.00 + $10 per lot
- Major Subdivision: $300.00 + $10 per lot
- Sign Permit: $75.00 + permit fee
- Rezoning Application: $200.00
- Variance Application: $200.00
