Center Recyclables
Recyclable items are collected at all 10 County convenience site drop off center locations and then transferred to the Main Landfill for processing before being recycled.
No hazardous materials will be accepted at the convenience site drop off center locations. All hazardous material must be taken to the Main Landfill.
No burned debris (including burn barrels) can be accepted at the convenience site drop off center locations.
All convenience site drop off center locations accept household garbage for transfer to a Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Landfill for disposal. All other items are collected and recycled.
All convenience site drop off centers accept the following items for recycling:
Antifreeze
Batteries (including lead-acid car, truck and boat batteries and household batteries).
Brown Goods (Sofas, recliners, mattresses, box springs, etc.)
Cardboard (All types of cardboard boxes. Shipping boxes, cereal boxes, etc. are accepted. Waxed boxes / boxes with a wax coating to prevent leakage, such as meat boxes and seedling boxes are not accepted.)
Construction & Demolition (C&D) debris.
Cooking Oil
Electronic Waste (computers and household electronics, televisions, radios, vacuums, etc.)
Fluorescent Light Bulbs (including Compact Fluorescent Bulbs)
Glass (empty food-grade bottles & jars in the color of brown, green and clear)
Magazines & books
Motor Oil (must be poured into proper collection tank at collection sites)
Motor Oil Bottles, empty (recycling code #2)
Newspapers and inserts
Office Paper, whole or shredded in sealed bags (white paper only)
Oil Filters
Paint (oil & latex)
Plastic Jugs & Bottles (Recycling code #1, soda bottles, water bottles. Recycling code #2, detergents, bleach, milk, motor oil bottles)
Scrap Metals
Tires (up to 4 standard size automobile tires from cars & pick-up trucks) No commercial vehicle/semi-truck tires. Any tire amount over 4 and all commercial vehicle tires must be delivered to the main landfill.
White Good (refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, etc.) Must be empty, no food, clothing, etc. inside.
Yard Trimmings (leaves, grass, pine cones, pine straw, limbs and branches up to 6 inches in diameter and 8 feet in length) from residential properties. No commercial business yard debris may be taken to recycling centers. All commercial companies must be deliver debris to the main landfill.
** No contractors will be allowed to use the convenience site drop off center locations. All contractors must deliver to the Main Landfill. Convenience site drop off center locations are for RESIDENTIAL USE ONLY. The use of any of these sites for the disposal of commercially generated waste is ILLEGAL.
