Charlie Grant presently serves as the Director of the Hampton County Detention Center. Prior to his service to Hampton County, Mr. Grant served in many prestigious positions. Mr. Grant obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Chedwick University in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1995, Mr. Grant retired from the US Army after serving his country for 21 years. In 1996, his career started in Corrections at the Beaufort County Detention Center where he served as a Correctional Officer. Then from 1999 to 2002, he served on Hampton County Council. His next position took him to Ridgeland, South Carolina where he served as the Director for the Jasper County Detention Center. It was here that Mr. Grant also served as Project Director for the newly built Jasper County Detention Center. Currently, Mr. Grant is serving Hampton County as the Director of the Detention Center.
