The scenic and natural beauty of Hampton County can be enjoyed at Lake Warren State Park, Webb Wildlife Center, forestland, and many swamps, creeks, and rivers.Salt and freshwater sports are offered at the Savannah, Coosawhatchie, Combahee, and Salkahatchie rivers.There are many opportunities for fishing, boating, skiing, and swimming at these black water rivers.

Recreational activities consist of parks with picnic facilities, baseball and softball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, and basketball courts.

For the youth, there are organized sports all during the year including football, soccer, basketball, softball and baseball.Also, the Hampton County Recreation Department offers many activities for youth and adults including sports, dance, martial arts, arts and crafts and self-help programs. There is church league softball for men and women, too.Gymnastics, senior programs, and other special events are also offered at the Hampton County Recreation Department.

If you are looking for more excitement, the sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean and resorts at Hilton Head Island are just over an hour away. Hilton Head is world renowned for their championship golf courses. Picturesque Beaufort is less than an hour away and the major shopping hubs of historic Charleston and Savannah are slightly more than an hour away.

Hampton County is famous to many sportsmen for exceptional hunting. In fact hunters across the southeast call Hampton County home from mid-August to the end of the year as they track that trophy buck. The largest white tail deer population in the country can be found here in Hampton. Wildlife abounds with ducks, wild turkeys, doves, quail, and wild hogs. The county offers daily and weekly hunting fees at overnight lodges and accommodations at large plantation hunting clubs.There are also numerous private hunt clubs in the county.

Large and small-mouth bass, catfish and redbreast can be found in the lakes, rivers and streams around the county. Fisherman from all around especially enjoy the fishing opportunities provided in the black water streams of the Savannah, Coosawhatchie, Combahee and Salkehatchie Rivers.

Lake Warren State Park
Lake Warren State Park, a 1,320 acre state park midway between Hampton and Estill, offers a 420 acre lake for fishing and boating. The park offers primitive camping, boat rentals, a fishing pier, nature trails, a bird refuge with bald eagles, picnic shelters, playground area, and a community building. The community building is available for rent for parties, reunions, meetings, etc. Park staff also hold classes and seminars on various outdoor activities.

Webb Wildlife Center
Bordering the historic Savannah River is 5,866 acres of natural beauty known as the Webb Wildlife Center. The center is owned and managed by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources to provide wildlife habitat and opportunities for public recreation.Visitors are provided with excellent viewings of deer, turkey, many types of birds, natural trails, canoeing, and ponds for fishing.

Penny Branch Gold Club
Hampton County offers championship golfing at the Penny Branch Golf Club, an 18-hole (6,550-yard layout), in Furman. The "Field of Dreams" type course has attracted golfers from around the world.

For horse enthusiasts, Woody Williams Saddle Club offers horsemen a variety of activities.
