Department Functions
The function of the Council on Aging is to provide services to county residents 60 years of age and older. Services include transportation, homebound meals, center meals, and daily activities. There are 3 Senior Centers located in the county.

Activities
Activities are provided at each Senior Center. These activities include, exercise, crafts, knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, BINGO, health and wellness lessons, nutrition lessons, blood pressure checks, and day trips. Special speakers are scheduled to give presentations to every Senior.

Transportation is provided for Seniors to :

Local community grocery stores, variety stores, and drug stores
Local doctor offices (arranged when possible)
Barber or beauty shop provided the shop is located on the regular route and time permits.
Homebound Meals
Homebound meals are delivered to the homes of older americans that are unable to prepare their meals for one reason or another. Eligibility requirements are based on physical conditions that determine if a person can get meals delivered to their home. Some of these conditions may be dementia, heart disease, being bed bound most of the time, cancer, or a stroke that has taken away mobility.
